On November 26, the NovouralskMedsintez plant (the Sverdlovsk region, a part of the Yunona holding) launched a shop to produce genetic engineered insulin required by patients with diabetes mellitus. The company can enter the top 5 of the largest global manufacturers.

On July 18, the only Russian plant for infusion solutions, Medsintez, has been launched in  the Sverdlovsk region. The Yunona holding began to construct the plant in July 2001 as part of the drug import substitution program and on behalf of the Governor of the Sverdlovsk region.
