On July 18, the only Russian plant for infusion solutions, Medsintez, has been launched in the Sverdlovsk region. The Yunona holding began to construct the plant in July 2001 as part of the drug import substitution program and on behalf of the Governor of the Sverdlovsk region.
The plant was built In less than 2 years, with a regulatory period of 4 years. Its territory (the area is about 30,000 sq. m) is surrounded with a concrete fence with modern access systems. The plant will produce infusion solutions of various dosages; the production capacity is 5.5 million litters per year. Also, Medsintez will produce insulin, a drug for patients with diabetes.
At the opening of the Medsintez plant, guests not only from Sverdlovsk region were present. Yuri Shevchenko, Minister of Health of the Russian Federation and Galina Karelova, deputy Head of the Government of the Russian Federation, were present at Novouralsk as representatives of the Russian Government.
Only distinguished guests were admitted to a sacred site - Medsintez's production premises. From now on, no human being will enter these sterile rooms classified as “clean” and “very clean”. The requirement is dictated by the need to comply with the strictest АМР standard's norms (good manufacturing practice). The plant has already passed the state acceptance and a trial period; the laboratory license is still pending. The commercial launch is scheduled for late August. Now, the plant employs 40 specialists from Novouralsk; in total, there are 100 work places here.
The emergence of this unique and ultramodern production is paid great attention and attributed high importance. For regional and Russian medical specialists, the appearance of domestic, competitive in terms of quality and price medical solutions is of double significance.
The Yunona holding's production expansion plans include building the second stage; in a year and a half, the launch of the third shop is expected. The construction (together with a German pharmaceutical company) of a dialysis concentrate shop is already underway. By the way, the domestic equipment is widely implemented at the plant. The final product meets the latest international requirements.
More than 220 million roubles have been invested by the Yunona holding in the Medsintez plant construction. The administration of Novouralsk city was actively involved in lending to the project. The city’s hospitals will receive sponsorship too - medical solutions. Treatment institutions of the Ural region will switch to high-quality medical solutions from September.
