On December 21, 2018, Epidemiology And Treatment Of Allergic Diseases, a scientific and practical conference of the Sverdlovsk region's allergologists and immunologists, was held, where Triazavirin, the domestic antiviral drug, was recommended as a treatment for viral infections that exacerbate bronchial asthma.
EvgeniBeltyukov, MD, professor, the Department of Faculty Therapy, Endocrinology, Allergology and Immunology at FGBOU VO UGMU of the Ministry of Health of Russia, chief out-of-staff allergist-immunologis of the Sverdlovsk Region and the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation in the Ural Federal District, told in his lecture “Bronchial Asthma: How to Regain the Lost Control?” about studies in the field of treating bronchial asthma.
In his lecture, EvgeniBeltyukov told about types, methods of detecting and treating bronchial asthma, about achievements in studying the disease, as well as about current studies in Russia and abroad. In the treatment of asthma, non-pharmacological strategies are highly important, that is the elimination of allergens, including annual vaccination against influenza and timely treatment of respiratory viral infections.
"Given the fact that the viral infection plays an extremely important role in asthma exacerbations, we (doctors), of course, should recommend anti-influenza vaccination and treatment with antiviral drugs. In this respect, I cannot avoid mentioning our Ural development - the Riamilovir (Triazavirin) drug, which has a direct antiviral effect for the influenza treatment. This drug belongs to the azoloazine family; it is the founder of this class of drugs and has a wide range of direct antiviral activity, not only against influenza viruses but also against respiratory syncytial virus, measles virus, parainfluenza, adenoviruses, oxo viruses. Unfortunately, it has been registered only for flu so far. Triazavirin has been included into the new federal clinical guidelines “Influenza in Adults” by the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation,” said EvgeniBeltyukov in his speech.
Other speakers of the conference were:
Kurbacheva Oksana - MD, professor, with a report "Allergen - specific immunotherapy and biological therapy - are there any points of contact?"
Lepeshkova Tatyana - candidate of medical sciences, allergologist-immunologist with a report "Molecular allergology in diagnosing food anaphylaxis in children of Yekaterinburg."
AbdullaevVugar - allergist-immunologist, pulmonologist with a report "Epidemiology of bronchial asthma and Overlap syndrome in Yekaterinburg."
